about

If you ever wondered what would happen if you took every key on your keyboard and put another key right in the middle of it, and then went on to produce some ED— well, just Electronic Music — you probably know what you're about to hear.

It's my first experience with microtonal music and first release under my real name (instead of Vishu's Eyes under which I had put out two LPs and numerous EPs of britpop material). I wrote it in quarter tone scale (a. k. a. 24 tone equal temperament) because I was always curious about incorporating new intervals in the modern electronic music while also preserving its — well — listenability, for the lack of better word. Hopefully it won’t be too harsh on your ears, and you will be able to appreciate the beauty of a quarter tone!

By the way — this right here is the picture that yours truly made 10 years ago on the actual electron microscope while desperately trying to see some nanoparticles he synthesised for his thesis. Desperately. To no avail. That’s why I’m making music now.

As always — science!

Jan

P. S. I also made a video for it that features a (rather questionable) version of origin of life on Earth. You may check it out here:

Later on, I moved to Mars where I learned to play piano and started writing dance music for low-gravity worlds. It would probably be easier to just listen. ... more
