Pour ce carnet de partitions qui inclut quatre morceaux sélectionnés de ses récentes sorties, Jan a collaboré encore une fois avec la peintre Clélia Poirot. À partir des aquarelles qu’a faites Clélia en écoutant les morceaux de « Habitable Worlds » et de « Mixed Origins », ils ont assemblé une sorte de version de catalogue immobilier (juste de l’échelle existentielle) qui présente de façon la plus neutre et détachée possible une sélection des mondes extraterrestres, parfois assez proches, parfois très lointains, où l’humanité pourrait se trouver une nouvelle maison — si elle le voulait bien.

SI vous avez vu le vrai catalogue d’exoplanètes créé par la NASA, vous avez certainement été déçus par le fait qu’on n’y voyait que des « visualisations hypothétiques » très floues, sans aucune possibilité de zoomer sur les rues et les maisons d’habitants de ces mondes. Alors, les auteurs de ce carnet ont décidé de corriger ça et en faire une version un peu plus détaillée. Si vous vous trouvez en ce moment sur Terre, si vous avez un piano et si vous êtes en train de réfléchir sur le plan de déménagement dans le futur proche (ou lointain, comme tout est relatif, n'est-ce pas), voici notre proposition pour vous. Il serait bien logique d’ajouter : « Ne manquez pas cette offre ! » pour faire l’analogie avec IKEA complète, mais dans notre cas ceci n’aurait aucun sens, car notre offre — tout comme l’univers — est absolument et incontestablement illimitée.

For this piano book that includes four pieces selected from his recent instrumental releases, Jan has once again collaborated with the painter Clélia Poirot. Starting off the watercolour paintings that Clélia created while listening to the tracks from Habitable Worlds and Mixed Origins, they have put together what may look like an existential-scale version of the housing catalogue that showcases — in the most neutral and nonjudgmental manner possible — a curated selection of the extraterrestrial worlds, sometimes situated fairly close to Earth, sometimes very faraway, that humanity could consider as its new home (if it ever considers doing so, of course).

If you have ever seen the infamous exoplanet catalogue created by NASA, you might have been disappointed by the vagueness of its “hypothetical visualizations” and the lack of possibility to zoom to see the streets of the exoplanetary towns. Well, in order to fix this, the authors of this book have decided to create their own, more detailed version of it. So, if you’re currently residing on Earth, if you play piano and if you are right now contemplating the idea of moving to a new location in the stellar neighbourhood in the near future (or very far away, long time from now, as everything is relative), here’s our proposition for you. I would probably be logical to add “Don’t miss the opportunity, book now!” to make the IKEA analogy complete, but in this particular case that would not have any sense, as our offer, just like the universe, is absolutely and incontestably unlimited.
