In his third fully instrumental EP of the 2020, Jan presents his new pieces in their original form in which they are normally conceived: bare grand piano (and lots of plate reverb).

The title track, Mixed Origins, is actually based on one of the first songs he had ever written. This piano interpretation draws on the voice memo from the early 2000s that has been waiting for the right language to complete its story — one of nomads, strangers, immigrants and refugees — all those who feel the earth starting to fall out from underneath their feet every time they get asked a seemingly benign question "Where are you from?".
