about

Jan’s 6th studio album offers the mixture of genres, soundscapes and innumerable synthesizer layers that hide even more profound vocal stacks with secondary melodic lines bending above the abysses of reverb. Not to forget the orchestral intros and outros and famously unintelligible lyrics, and there you have your classic JV — and then a bit more.

The Loneliest Man includes 14 tracks, some of which you may already have heard — recorded, arranged and produced while the world was slowly returning to normal. This release is an homage to the NASA astronaut Michael Collins, the Apollo 11 pilot who is often overshadowed by his iconic crew mates. He was the one who stayed in the lunar orbit while Nil Armstrong was taking his “small step”. During several minutes, while the module was passing over the dark side of the Moon, he was separated from the entire humanity by the thickness of the lunar body and completely cut off from all communication. This earned him the nickname of “the loneliest man in history”, while Collins frequently said that he was actually feeling pretty comfortable and even made himself a coffee.

Jan here. I might be a terrible publicist, but I hope you like the new music I’ve recorded for you guys. Because you’re the freaking best fans ever. I was joking about the abysses of reverb, by the way. You know I'm a very humble chap, right? Love 💜

Hi, my name is Jan, I'm a composer, pianist and music producer. I was a drummer in an indie band, after that I started a solo trip hop project which uncontrollably turned into a post-britpop duo as I was joined by an uber talented guitarist. Later on, I moved to Mars where I learned to play piano and started writing dance music for low-gravity worlds. It would probably be easier to just listen. ... more
